Short version (checked October 15, 2026): Pianoforall, the piano course by Robin Hall, is now sold and taught through the Pianoforall Academy. You follow the lessons in an online course player, you can also download interactive ebooks for offline study, and there is a free Test Drive you can try without a credit card. This page explains what changed from the older ebook download version and how to get started. For our full verdict on the course itself, see our Pianoforall review.
Everything below comes from the vendor’s public pages (pianoforall.com and academy.pianoforall.com) as they appeared on October 15, 2026, plus our own search of the Apple App Store. Numbers such as lesson counts are the vendor’s own figures and we say so where they appear. Prices change, so confirm them on the official site before you buy.

What Is Pianoforall Academy?
Pianoforall Academy is the new home of the Pianoforall course. Robin Hall, who says he created Pianoforall in 2006, now delivers the course through an online platform at academy.pianoforall.com instead of selling it only as downloadable ebook files. Payments are processed by ClickBank, the same retailer used before.
The main course is simply called Pianoforall. Alongside it the Academy lists three optional add-on courses called Classics By Ear (more on those below).
What Changed From the Old Ebook Version
In our earlier coverage the course was described as ebooks with embedded video and audio, delivered as downloads. The vendor says the Academy is a new way of accessing and selling the same lessons, and that customers also still get the offline ebooks. Here is what we could confirm from the vendor’s public pages:
| Topic | Earlier ebook version | Pianoforall Academy (Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| How you take the lessons | Downloaded ebooks with embedded video and audio | Online course player that saves your progress, plus downloadable interactive ebooks and printable PDFs |
| Where it lives | download.pianoforall.com | academy.pianoforall.com (the old downloads site is still online) |
| Community | Not part of the product as we described it | The Piano Lounge student community |
| Price | $49 one-time | $49 one-time, shown with a $79 list price |
| Guarantee | 60 days | 60 days |
What’s Inside the Academy
According to the vendor’s course page, the Pianoforall course contains 568 step-by-step lessons and about 25 hours of video, with an online course player, interactive ebooks, printable PDFs, and audio lessons and exercises. The vendor describes the topics as chords and rhythm-style piano, ballads, blues, rock ‘n’ roll, jazz, improvisation, playing by ear, reading music (introduced gradually) and classical piano.
The vendor describes the method as “play first, read later”. It does not use games, scores or software that listens to what you play, so it is not a feedback app. We could not find a chapter-by-chapter module list on any public page, so we do not list one here.
The Free Test Drive: What You Get Without a Card
The Academy offers a free Test Drive. The vendor describes it as seven short watch-only videos, one complete lesson, a free ebook and access to The Piano Lounge community, with no credit card required. You will receive occasional emails from the vendor and can unsubscribe at any time. It is the lowest-risk way to see the teaching style before paying anything.
Price, Lifetime Access and the 60-Day Guarantee
- Price: the Pianoforall course is listed at $49 as a one-time payment, shown with a $79 struck-through list price (as displayed on October 15, 2026).
- Access: the vendor advertises lifetime access with no subscription. The vendor’s terms say lifetime means the lifetime of the course while it continues to be offered and supported, and that materials may be updated or replaced.
- Guarantee: a 60-day money-back guarantee. The vendor says refunds are handled through ClickBank or by emailing him. See our guide to the Pianoforall refund policy.
- Discounts: see what we found in our Pianoforall discount guide.
How to Get Started and Log In
You can start with the free Test Drive on the Academy, or buy the course directly from the Pianoforall course page. Existing students sign in at academy.pianoforall.com. The same account is said to work on a computer, a tablet and a phone, and your progress is saved so you can resume where you left off.
If you bought the older ebook version, the vendor’s separate downloads site (download.pianoforall.com) is still online. We have not verified whether older purchases are also available inside the Academy, so check with the vendor’s support if you are unsure.
Classics By Ear: The Three Add-On Courses
The Academy also sells three optional courses under the name Classics By Ear, at $49 each: Erik Satie’s Gnossiennes, Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata (first movement) and two famous Bach preludes. According to the vendor each includes online lessons, keyboard diagrams, sheet music and downloadable interactive ebooks. The vendor lists a bundle of the three Classics courses at $79 and a bundle of Pianoforall plus all three at $99. One vendor FAQ page shows a different figure for the three-course bundle, so confirm the final price at checkout.
You do not need these courses to follow the main Pianoforall course. They are for people who specifically want those pieces.
Learning Online vs Offline: Devices, Downloads and Printing
The vendor says there are two ways to use the course: the online player, and downloadable interactive ebooks that contain the lessons with embedded video and audio, as well as printable PDFs. For a tablet setup, see our guide to using Pianoforall on an iPad. We searched the Apple App Store on October 15, 2026 and did not find a Pianoforall app, so you should expect to use the website player.
The Piano Lounge Community
The Piano Lounge is the students’ community hub on the Academy, where the vendor says he takes part himself. The vendor also says you can ask questions inside the lessons in the course player. We have not seen the community from the inside, so we cannot comment on how active it is.
Academy vs Udemy Listings vs Old Ebook Copies
You may find Pianoforall listed on other marketplaces, including Udemy, or as old ebook files. We have not verified what those listings contain or whether they are current. The official, current version is the one sold on pianoforall.com and academy.pianoforall.com, and the guarantee and support described above apply to purchases made there.
Who the Academy Fits
The vendor presents the course mainly for adult beginners and returning players, and says teenagers can use it. It suits people who want to learn chords and rhythm and play songs at their own pace, without a subscription. If you want an app that listens to you play and scores you in real time, it is not that. Our comparison pages cover the alternatives: Pianoforall vs Simply Piano, and our overall Pianoforall review gives our assessment.
